To be honest, at to the lowest degree 2 of the light fixtures really didn't lucifer my current decor anyway. I didn't worry too much considering we were planning to movement.
Since we now aren't…at the moment anyway…it's time to practise something with them.

I am So thrilled to say all iii worked out very nicely and nosotros saved a agglomeration by not having to supersede them.
How To Pigment Light Fixtures (without taking them down)
You want to know the elementary trick?
Painter's record and small artist mode paintbrushes . :) Nil more!
Well, that'due south not true, you do need a few products, like paint….and a step stool or ladder. :)
But the trick is……. using the proper tools. That'south right.
And well-nigh projects are just that, all near using the correct tools.
Let's commencement with this chandelier in the dining room.
I actually tried to update it inexpensively last year with new, white globes.
Information technology did make it wait a ton amend and the globes were not pricey at all.
Simply I even so didn't love it.
Here is what information technology looks similar now…
What a difference, correct?
If you follow along on Instagram, you might have seen a snippet or two (or five, lol) over the weekend when I was painting/re-doing them.
I share a lot of the things I'm doing, at the moment, over there in the "stories". Plus a few random daily life things, also. ;)
So information technology'd be fun if you'd follow forth!
And just take a look at that crispy white ceiling I painted last nighttime.
I've painted every single wall in this firm as to the lowest degree 4-5 times (not even kidding, every single one ;) ) just have never painted the ceilings. Ugh
And I honestly don't retrieve they've been painted by anyone in 40 years. And then they were long overdue.
Just to give you a clue as to how dark and dirty they were…..
SO needed. What do you recollect? ;)
I'chiliad hoping that by painting all the ceilings downstairs, information technology will really brighten up the spaces.
This end is amazing….and the only one that didn't get created with PAINT!
Nope…you'll just have to stay tuned to see this magic. ;)
I'll be back later on with a full tutorial on how to create this "imitation" verdigris. I will say, it was oh-so-simple to practice.
I painted all 3 of these in i day.
UPDATE: Y'all can run into it now, here >>> "How To Create Faux Verdigris"
Hither is the second prepare.
And virtually recently with new, white globes. (same ones I put on the chandelier)
Not bad, but that bronze is non really matching my mode or colors in hither anymore.
So they got a little paint.
And yes, this ane got paint. ;) I did these a little differently than I did the chandelier.
I'll be sharing this "imitation" patina tutorial soon, also. :)
UPDATE: Yous can see it at present, hither >>> "How To Create Faux Patina"
I just admire how they turned out!
The coloring is perfect for the colors in my home. Plus, the aged feel is also a proficient match for my decor.
So happy with them…and I didn't spend a dime. Every single thing I used, I already had.Love that!
Which is proficient considering I usually come upon these creative things on a whim! ;)
And no, I did non have to remove these from the ceiling either.
Lastly, the light fixture in the entrance hall.
I recently repainted the foyer in my favorite, SW Ocean Salt and it totally inverse the feel of the entry.
The lite fixture, as is, was no longer working.
Hither it is "before"…(and the old wall pigment colour)…
And here it is now…
Along with the new wall paint colour.
You can come across a sneak peek of the quondam gallery wall. ;) It got a fiddling paint too.
I'll be sharing the new entrance hall await one time I go it finished.
But just look at that fixture…would you always guess information technology'southward been painted?
Another "before"…..
And later on…..
Isn't that the best matter always?!
Now, I did accept to remove the lampshades…just the fixture stayed upwards.
There'due south non much to this tutorial because it'southward really that simple.
Light Fixture Chalk Paint Update:
The inner shade got one glaze of paint and the outer shade got ii coats of paint.
I used this chalk style pigment mixed with a tiny bit of water to arrive a bit more fluid.
You can use a scrap brush for this.
Simply apply the paint either long way around the shade or short, up and down strokes, making your way around the shade.
Do make sure your pigment is non too thick and try to apply evenly.
Y'all desire information technology to "soak in". Several low-cal coats are better than one heavy one.
Paint i coat and hold information technology up to a light to encounter if yous have brush strokes or whatever missed spots.
If you do, or if y'all want a bit more than color, apply a second coat. (in one case the first coat is dry)
I didn't seal this because I didn't feel it really needed it since it is up and out of the way.
This is not the get-go lampshade I've painted, by the mode. I've painted more than….and many other things with Chalk Paint back in the twenty-four hour period! ;)
